JULIA Barretto appears in a new soap, “Di Na Muli,” her first project as a Viva star and a co-production between Cignal and TV5. The show started its lock-in taping in Subic last May, 2021, where Julia even showed in her own vlog that she’s being visited on the set by her boyfriend, Gerald Anderson, proof that they are now very open about their relationship as they also keep posting their photos together with Julia’s family.
Written by Noreen Capili and directed by the controversial Andoy Ranay, “Di Na Muli” is a romantic-drama and she has two leading men both named Marco: Gumabao and Gallo.
Julia plays Yanna, a girl who inherits a rare gift from her grandmother, a fortuneteller. Once she touches the hand of someone, she is able to predict as to how many more remaining hours that person will stay here on earth before he makes a final exit.
Because of this unwanted gift, she tries to avoid being close to people as she is afraid to know beforehand what their life span would be. But then, she later learns how to use it to help other people to value time more and make the most of their lives. Also how to be able to live without regrets and undo the mistakes they did in their past.
How is it working with the two Marcos? “I had a good experience with both of them.

“Di Na Muli” is her first show after she left ABS-CBN to move to Viva Artists. It will be airing as a weekly show every Saturday on TV5 starting this coming September 18, replacing “Encounter” that stars Cristine Reyes and Diego Loyzaga.

Jao Mapa was launched in “Matrikula,” a sexy drama in 1997 where he did love scenes with Rosanna Roces as his mentor. This time, in Vivamax’ “Paraluman,” the tables are turned since he is now the one who teaches Rhen Escaño in this story of a 16-year old girl who has a torrid affair with a 40-year-old man.
“Yes, nabaligtad na ang sitwasyon,” he beams. “Nanibago ako nung una kasi I left showbiz then to go back to my studies at nakatapos ako ng fine arts sa UST. I started selling my paintings and it helped me put food on our table. But now, niloob ng Diyos na makabalik ako sa pag-arte.”
How is it working with a much younger actress like Rhen? “Okay naman ang naging working relationship namin kasi very professional siya and she’s a very good actress. She knows her craft and she’s very dedicated sa trabaho niya so walang naging problema kahit sa love scenes namin.”
He’s very thankful to Viva for giving him a second chance. “I got excited when they offered the project to me. Before shooting started, I had to trim down and go on a diet to be in better shape. We shot this lock-in shooting sa mountains in Tanay, Rizal kasi ang setting is a small rural village na kakaunti ang mga tao.”
Jao is 45 years old. He and wife Cecille have two sons, Ben and Caleb, and a daughter, Amber.

Angeli Khang made a big splash with co-stars AJ Raval and Jela Cuenca in the hit sex-drama, “Taya,” which is a big hit now in Vivamax. Viva now is launching them as the “Viva MaXimum Crush ng Bayan.”
Angeli has a Pinay mom and a Korean dad. How did she start in showbiz?
“I started in 2016 when I was 15 as a cosplayer then I went into runway modeling and in 2017, I became a part of a girl group so I was trained to sing and dance, then Viva discovered me at heto, nag-movie na ako,” she says. “I didn’t expect at all na first movie ko pa lang will be this successful at magiging crush kami ng bayan nina AJ and Jela.”
Did she inform her parents that she will disrobe in the movie?
“I told my mom about it just days before we started the shoot and she understood me naman. Basta ang importante raw, wala akong tinatapakang tao. I am just thankful na binigyan ako ng ganitong break.”
How does she deal with bashers and with “bastos” remarks? “I don’t expect naman na everyone will like us. I’m just happy na that there are more people who appreciate our kaseksihan. It helps boost our self-esteem. About bastos remarks, hanggang tingin lang naman sila, ‘di naman nila makukuha.”
Does she have a boyfriend?
“No. I’m single at the moment. Nagka-boyfriend ako noon but it has ended. No regrets as it helped me grow. I just turned 20 on August 3 and I think I should focus on my career muna kasi napaka-once in a lifetime ang opportunity ito na ibinigay sa akin. If ever, I’d get a boyfriend who’d understand me at susuporta sa career ko.”
Will she be ready to do full frontal nudity?
“I want to study it muna. Kung maganda ang role, ang material and okay ang director and it’s really worth it, then I will give it all my best and my 100%. But I hope people will see the art and not just the sexy part. Later on
