MIGUEL Tanfelix started as a child actor then he was paired with Bianca Umali as a teen star. He now plays his most mature role to date in “What We Could Be” and with a new leading lady, Ysabel Ortega.
“I play Franco, a mysterious guy with a dark past,” he says. “He’s a conman na maraming layers sa pagkatao niya na gusto niyang itago sa mundo.”
He said he’s very happy for Ysabel to get the lead role in “What We Could Be” that starts airing on GMA-7 this Monday, August 29.
“Una kaming nagkasama sa ‘Voltes V’ and I saw the big potential in her. I believe in her talent and yet she remains humble. This is a turning point in her career.”
Would he consider “What We Could Be” also a turning point in his own career?
“Yes, it definitely is. Kasi identified ako before with another ka-love team. And two years akong walang show. Pre-pandemic pa ako huling lumabas in ‘Sahaya.’ So transition period ito for me, from teen roles to now playing a young adult and a mature character and I really enjoyed it. I hope they would later give me even more challenging roles after this.”
The grapevine says he and Ysabel are currently really playing beautiful music together. So what’s the real score between them now?
“We’re very close now, which is inevitable kasi nga araw-araw kaming magkasama. First sa ‘Voltes V,’ then dito sa ‘What We Could Be.’ And kapag everyday kayo magkasama, natural, you get closer talaga. Basta ang mga traits na hinahanap ko sa isang babae, I can see them in Ysabel. So ‘yun na lang muna.”

After her performance as the haunted heroine in “Ang Babaeng Nawawala sa Sarili,” Ayanna Misola is now back in “Bula.”
“I play Meldie,” says Ayanna. “Asawa ko po si Mon Confiado, who’s older than me and disabled pa. I work in a laundry shop. You’d think sweet and simple si Meldie, but she has her own sexual fantasies kasi nga baldado naman ang husband niya.”
In the laundry shop, Ayanna is attracted to one of her clients, the handsome cop Jacob (Gab Lagman), who already has a girlfriend, Celine (Rob Guinto). Despite her being married and Jacob being in a relationship, Meldie seduces the hot cop.
Ayanna says she enjoyed her role as Meldie. “May pagka-funny ang treatment sa kanya kasi sinusuot niya ang ibang damit na pinalalabhan sa laundry shop at nagpapantasya siya to satisfy herself.”
How is it working with Gab Lagman who’s new to sexy flicks? “Sobrang bait niya. Hindi ko alam may limitations siya, nadala ako sa love scene namin at tinanggal ko ang briefs niya.
Pero hindi naman siya nagreklamo. Naloka lahat ng tao sa set.”
Ayanna reveals she had COVID-19 before shooting this film. “Kaya hindi nagka-press preview ang ‘Babaeng Nawawala sa Sarili,’ kasi nga may COVID ako. And as soon as nag-negative ako, shoot na kami for ‘Bula’.”
“Bula” premieres on Vivamax this September 2.

‘Ang daming iyakan scenes ko rito, may breakdown pa. — Janelle Tee’

Former Miss Earth Janelle Tee gets to play her most challenging title role to date in “The Escort Wife,” streaming on Vivamax starting September 22.
“I play Patricia, wife ni Raymond Bagatsing, who plays Roy,” she says. “My husband is very rich but I’m bored being cooped up inside our home all the time. Then one day, I saw the woman living across having passionate sex with her partner. She’s Ava Mendez as Chrissy, an escort girl. I start stalking her and I discover my husband is one of her clients.”
To spite her cheating husband, Janelle becomes a secret escort girl herself with the help of Ava, with whom she even has a girl-to-girl love scene.
“Bale second time ko ito to have a lesbian bedscene after ‘Putahe’,” says Janelle. “Hindi talaga ako comfortable. Sa bagay, no love scene naman is easy, kahit sa lalaki man. But lalo na ang babae sa babae. But Ava is so kalog and perky that she made it so light kaya nagawa naman namin.”
She says “The Escort Wife” is her first heavy drama. “As the wife, mapagmahal ako rito, may pagka-martyr pa. But after discovering her husband’s infidelity, Patricia will do a lot of things you won’t expect her to do. Ang daming iyakan scenes ko rito, may breakdown pa.”
How is it working with Raymond Bagatsing who has won so many acting awards? “He can be so intimidating kasi he’s so quiet. Kahit anong scene, super kalmado lang. I was wondering: makakaya ko kayang sabayan ito sa mga eksena namin. But he really guided me in our scenes together and it’s really an honor to have worked with him.”
