POKWANG hosts the morning show “Chika, BESH!” with Pauleen Luna and Ria Atayde.
There are bashers who say that “Chika, BESH!” is a copycat of ABS-CBN’s “Magandang Buhay,” and that the hosts don’t even have good chemistry.
“Marami namang ibang morning shows in the past hosted by women, nauna na yung ‘Sis’ sa GMA, so hindi naman basta gayahan lang ito,” said Pokwang. “As for the chemistry, darating naman ‘yan. Maski ‘yung ‘Magandang Buhay,’ nangapa rin sila noong una (Jolina Magdangal, Melai Cantiveros and Karla Estrada). Nade-develop naman ang chemistry as the show goes along. Ang importante, kami nina Pauleen and Ria, we really like each other and we all want to improve as hosts para mapaganda ang show namin.”
When she had her recent birthday presentation in “Chika, BESH!,” she shed tears of joy when her inamorato, Lee O’Brian, popped up to greet her and praised her for being such a good and generous mother and partner to him. She said she’s very lucky to have a partner in Lee who’s very considerate and even cooks for her.
“’Yun nga lang, nahihirapan talaga ako sa English kaya kapag nagsasagutan kami, tumatalikod na lang ako kasi nauubusan ako ng sasabihin,” she revealed. “Pero later, siya pa ang susuyo sa akin at tatawagin ako, halika na, kumain na tayo, in Tagalog ha. Puro pasasalamat talaga ako kay Lord. Very powerful ang dasal. Kasi ayan, andaming walang trabaho, pero ako dala-dalawa pa ang bagong shows ko. Hindi talaga ako puedeng magreklamo.”

‘Piolo Pascual remains indestructible despite efforts of BB Gandanghari to besmirch his reputation.’
Piolo Pascual remains indestructible despite efforts of BB Gandanghari to besmirch his reputation. It’s said that he’ll have a new show on TV5, but that’s just a rumor. The one thing that is sure is he has a new endorsement and that’s Beautederm!
Other outfits maybe losing revenue because of the pandemic, but Beautederm continues to boom and just got Piolo as its new brand ambassador while the company is celebrating its 11th anniversary as a leading player in the beauty industry.
Beautederm Pres. and CEO Rhea Anicoche-Tan, recently named as one of this year’s Women of Substance and Style by People’s Asia, is happy to welcome Papa P.

“He’s really in my bucket list since our company started in 2009,” she proudly proclaimed.
“With hard work, careful planning and prayers, my dream of having him as an endorser has now finally come true. We’re happy to have him as I’ve always admired his impressive body of work as one of the most accomplished and respected artists in the industry.”
Piolo is himself glad to be the new face of Beautederm. “I’m familiar with them as my sister is a longtime user of Beautederm products,” he said. “I’ve also heard so much positive feedback about the brand from my colleagues in the industry. They speak highly of Beautederm products. So ako, I tried Beau Charcoal Soap from the Spruce & Dash men’s line and I’m really amazed as it really helps in exfoliating dead skin and detoxifying, too.
After using it, you can really feel fresh and clean as it also has a sweet but manly scent. Daily essential na for me ngayon ang Beau as it truly delivers its promises. I feel relaxed, energized, rejuvenated every time I use Beau for bathing after a hard day’s work.”
As for BB’s allegations, it’s wise of Piolo to just keep silent. Now the likes of Ai Ai de las Alas, Lolit Solis and Cristy Fermin are censuring BB for what he’s doing to Papa P.

Ted Failon had a tearful farewell when he appeared on “TV Patrol” and was heard on “Failon Ngayon” on his last day with ABS-CBN on August 31. He’s been a Kapamilya for 30 long years and he said: “Kung sino ako ngayon, utang ko lahat ‘yun sa kanila. Malalim at personal ang aming pinagsamahan.”
And now, he’s starting a new chapter. He just signed a contract with TV5’s radio station, Radyo5, on Sept. 11. Joining Ted is Czarina Marie Guevara, more popularly known as DJ ChaCha, an MOR disc jockey and Ted’s partner in his former DZMM program. Present at their contract signing were TV5’s top executives Robert Galang, president and CEO, and Pierre Paul S. Buhay, vice president for Finance.
Ted’s program will start airing on October 5. He is excited to return on air anchoring his own four-hour morning news magazine program. “We are excited to deliver a paradigm shift on FM Radio. And we are thankful that Radyo 5 will give us the opportunity to serve the people with this one-of-a- kind format,” he said. “Maraming, maraming salamat po sa Radyo 5 sa pagkakataon na ito. At sa lahat ng aming mga tagapakinig, mas gaganda ang inyong umaga dahil malapit nang mabago ang tunog ng FM Radio.”

Two actresses gave birth to their firstborns on the same day, September 10: Coleen Garcia, wife of Billy Crawford, and Dianne Medina, wife of Rodjun Cruz. What’s nice about them is they’re not like other stars who chose to hide their baby from the public and wouldn’t even share their picture.
Both Coleen and Dianne, and their respective husbands, posted their photos with their newborn babies right away. Coleen had a daughter while Dianne had a baby boy.
Coleen had a waterbirth right at home after four hours of labor, very brave without using any pain killers. She chose to give birth the natural way, just like Max Collins before her.
But Max has an advantage in that her husband, Pancho Magno, is also a certified nurse. Coleen quickly posted her experience in her social media account:
“There’s so much I wanna say, but for now, I just want to praise God for being so so good.
Thank you, Lord, for our beautiful Amari. For a while there, towards the end, I was really regretting the decision to skip the pain killers lol but I’m so happy I did it! No tearing, thanks to the water.”
Dianne gave birth at St. Luke’s Medical Center. They will call their son Rodolfo Joaquin Diego III. She posted their photos online and wrote: “My answered prayer, my Baby Rodolfo Joaquin Diego III. Thank you, my Almighty Father [thank you emoji] September 10, 2020 1:55 am [baby emoji] please follow our baby @babyjoaquinilustre. Thank you Dra @drmaygonzaga (her OB) we love you.”
To the new parents, our congratulations. We pray your babies will grow up to both be good persons, healthy and strong. Next to deliver are Sheena Halili and Assunta de Rossi.
