ANDREA Torres denies once again that she is living in with boyfriend Derek Ramsay, but she admits she happened to be there the night he hurt his eyes with the ultraviolet light he was fixing inside his room. She even helped take him to the hospital with another friend.
“He was not confined naman sa hospital,” she said. “Binigyan lang siya ng eyedrops to cleanse his eyes. So now, he’s very careful in using his UV light. Tungkol sa live in, I just don’t mind it na lang, kasi the more important thing is that we have a good, steady relationship na even our respective families approve of.”
Andrea is glad to be acting once again before the cameras in “The Promise,” the story featured this week in GMA-7’s hit drama anthology, “I Can See You”, which had a hit debut with Alden Richards’ “Love at the Balcony.” This time, Andrea plays the role of Ivy, an aspiring artist who wants to do good for the sake of her family who lives in poverty.
Ivy is the girlfriend of Jude (Benjamin Alves), the cousin and righthand man of Frank (Paolo Contis). Jude takes Ivy to visit Frank in his lakeside home. Frank is a widower who has become a recluse after his wife Clarisse (Yasmien Kurdi) suddenly died in an accident. Soon, strange things start to happen.
Ivy starts showing some mannerisms that belong to Clarisse and the grieving Frank starts to believe that Clarisse is reincarnated in Ivy.
“The Promise” was shot in Cavinti in Laguna and in Lake Caliraya. Health protocols were strictly observed before and during the taping.

Rita Daniela and Ken Chan are back performing live in the weekend noontime show, “All Out Sundays.” Now, they’re also back on primetime on Saturday and Sunday night in “The Clash Season 3” where they will be the Journey hosts of the contestants.
“Nakakatuwa dahil tuloy-tuloy na ang trabaho namin,” said Rita. “Talagang I’m so happy to be back with the people that I love.”
Does that mean Ken?
“Siempre, kasama na siya roon, but kasama rin ang co-hosts naming sina Julie Anne San Jose and Rayver Cruz, at ang judges na sina Ai Ai de las Alas, Lani Misalucha and Christian Bautista, and our director Louie Ignacio.”
How about Ken? Did he miss Rita? “Siempre, pero lagi naman kaming nagkikita. We did a movie together sa Pagsanjan, Laguna, lock-in for more than one week, with Direk Louie Ignacio rin as our director. Tapos, magkasama rin kami sa ‘All Out Sundays.’ Pero sa ‘The Clash,’ na-miss ko ang pakikisalamuha namin with the Clashers and their respective families, which is part ng work namin as Journey hosts.”
We heard that Ken was offered a Boys Love or BL project so common these days. Did he accept it?
“May nag-inquire nga po, but I felt that been, there done that na ako dyan in ‘Destiny Rose.’ Si Jeric Gonzales ang kapareha ko roon kaya masasabi kong nauna na kami dyan sa BL na yan. Nakawala na ako sa ganyang character after mag-click ang tambalan namin ni Rita sa RitKen love team, so hindi ko na po babalikan pa ‘yan.”

People close to them wish their relationship will last forever.
Both Raymart Santiago and Jodi Sta. Maria deserve to be happy and, although they have yet to admit their relationship, their actions showing them hugging each other in various photos speak more than any words that they can say. What’s nice is that the reaction of people close to them are genuinely favorable. They are happy for them to be together.
“They deserve it, for sure,” said one director who has worked with them. “They’re both good persons and this time, I hope their relationship will last for a lifetime.”
Someone asked Raymart about it pointblank and he didn’t deny it. “Hindi naman kami young stars like ‘Kathniel’ or ‘Lizquen,’ so hindi na kami kailangang pag-usapan pa,” he allegedly said. “What you see is what you get.”
As we all know, Raymart’s first marriage to Claudine Barretto ended with an annulment. He later found romance in an Ayala company lawyer named AC Legarda (said to be a relative of Loren Legarda), but they split up before the pandemic happened, after 4 years of being together.
As for Jodi, she was first married to Pampi Lacson (son of Sen. Ping Lacson) and they have a 14-year old son, but their marriage has yet to be annulled. This is said to be the reason her relationship with Cavite Vice Gov. Jolo Revilla didn’t prosper. Jolo is now married to former beauty queen Angelica Alita. Pampi, in turn, is now about to have his second child with former Kapuso actress Iwa Moto.
Both Raymart and Jodi are Kapamilya stars with their own current digital shows. Raymart is in “Ang Probinsiyano” while Jodi is in “Ang Sa Iyo ay sa Akin,” with Iza Calzado.

Ted Failon no longer pays attention to snide remaks he’s not a loyal Kapamilya now that he’s with TV5 and RadyoSingko. “The decision wasn’t easy and I admit that me and my family talked about it, even cried over it as we considered the pros and cons of my decision to move,” he revealed. “Lots of prayers every single day, praying for signs and proper guidance. I was just thankful for the opportunity that TV5 gave me. Sayang naman ang opportunity, it might not knock again.”
He’s thankful ABS-CBN understood his position. “Nakakatuwa kasi they gave me a beautiful send off with an official farewell statement pa,” he added. “It was bittersweet. Sad na iiwan mo ang station where you literally grew up as a broadcaster. Masaya rin kasi very warm naman ang pag-welcome sa akin ni TV5 Pres. Robert Galang and TV5 news head Luchi Cruz-Valdes. Pinagbigyan din nila ang request kong makasama si DJ Chacha na siyang ka-tandem ko sa kabilang istasyon pa.”
As for DJ Chacha, she no longer wants to dignify any accusation of her detractors that she has no “utang na loob.” “Wa epek sa akin ang bashing nila as I don’t even know them,” she said. “Kaya ba nilang buhayin ang pamilya ko? Of course, I felt sad leaving my former home na MOR, but mas sad akong nawalan ako ng work. Radio is my first love and I’m happy na radio rin ang dumating na offer sa akin, na ipinagdasal ko talaga. Siempre, tatanggapin ko ‘yun.”
You can listen to their show “Ted Failon and DJ Chacha at Radyo5” 6 to 10 a.m. and also watch them on TV5 and One PH starting 8 a.m. Their show is a combination of news, commentaries and music. They will also give prizes to lucky listeners. Also starting this week is “Frontline Pilipinas,” the primetime newscast with Luchi Cruz Valdez, Raffy Tulfo, Cheryl Cosim, Ed Lingao, and Lourd de Veyra.
