‘I’m actually anticipating it, ‘yung lungkot na mahiwalay ka sa pamilya mo, malupit na challenge ‘yun, but it’s something we need to do — Dingdong Dantes’
DINGDONG Dantes is psyching himself up to be emotionally prepared when he is separated from wife Marian and their two kids, Zia and Ziggy, during the two-week lock-in taping of “Descendants of the Sun.” The taping is set to resume this September.
“I’m actually anticipating it, ‘yung lungkot na mahiwalay ka sa pamilya mo, malupit na challenge ‘yun, but it’s something we need to do,” he said in an online interview for the 15th anniversary of GMA Pinoy TV. “We’ll return to taping para tapusin namin ang mga eksenang hindi natapos sa ‘Descendants of the Sun’ para naman mapanood ng mga Kapuso natin here and abroad ang kabuuan nito. We owe it to them.”
He says that after the two-week taping, he would have to go into self-quarantine for a couple of days more to make sure he is truly safe. “Kailangang i-test muna ako uli para siguraduhin na hindi ako magiging carrier ng virus sa loob ng bahay namin,” he added.
“Mahirap talaga, pero kakayanin natin ‘yan.”
Will they be able to tape all the remaining difficult scenes in “Descendants of the Sun”?
“There will be big challenges but we’re in a creative industry so I’m confident we can think of things on how to solve any problems in production that might come our way. The production has already factored in all the possible limitations dahil sa safety protocols required by the pandemic situation so, creativity-wise, hindi naman siguro ito maaapektuhan. We’ll still deliver first-rate entertainment to our viewers na mine-message akong matagal na sila nabitin sa panonood ng ‘Descendants of the Sun.’ In spite of the numerous health and safety guideline that we have to follow, hindi namin sila bibiguin.
Hitik pa rin sa drama, romance, action scenes and special effects ang aming show.”
Past episodes of the show are available online on GMANetwork.com or at the GMA Network app.

Ria Atayde considers being one of the hosts of TV5’s new morning talk show, “Chika, BESH,” a real big break for her. At ABS-CBN, all she did was play supporting roles in soaps.
She never hosted a show of her own.
“Kaya nga I felt so happy and thankful when I learned may offer sa’kin ang Archangel Media of Mike Tuviera for TV5,” she said. “But I didn’t grab the offer right away, kasi baka isiping kasasara lang ng ABS, lilipat na agad ako. But it was my handler mismo sa Star Magic who told me about the offer, so alam na nila about this. I also talked first to my parents and asked their opinion. They were all okay naman, very supportive pa nga, so sabi ko, blessing ito.”
She also looked forward to having fun working with her co-hosts in “Chika, BESH.” “Yes, I welcome the idea of working with Tita Pokwang and Pauleen Luna as my co-hosts. At right now, they exceeded all my expectations. I’m enjoying their company and I’m really learning a lot from them. I’m more into acting naman kasi, but I welcome the challenge of doing something new although kabado ako. So now, step by step, I’m learning. Kahit may guide questions kami, you should make it appear na hindi ka basta nagbabasa lang ng guide questions when you interviews a guest. Dapat, it will come out as natural, spontaneous, to make sure there is fluidity in the conversations. It helps a lot talaga na maganda ang bonding namin nina Tita Pokwang and Pauleen. Saluhan kami.”
“Chika, BESH” is seen weekdays on TV5 at 10 a.m., with replays later at the Colours Channel of Cignal TV.

Looks like Sarah Balabagan has no intention of keeping quiet about Arnold Clavio being the dad of her firstborn, a daughter who’s now 22 years old. It seems her wide exposure for revealing the truth about her daughter on social media live has now encouraged her to be more visible.
She seems to want to revive her 15 minutes of fame which she first gained when she was an OFW who was jailed for stabbing her rapist boss. It hit the headlines and her life was even made into a movie starring Vina Morales. She has now even made herself available for online and TV interviews.
In a recent TV interview, she said she felt her daughter was lonely growing up.
She even taunts Arnold: “Magpakalalaki ka. Aminin mo. Twenty-two years na iyong ibinigay ko sa iyo!”
