PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. yesterday turned over low-rise houses to 216 families who previously lived near the Talisay River, a dangerous zone area in Balanga City, Bataan.
The President said the National Housing Authority (NHA)- Balanga low-rise housing project is part of the government’s continuous efforts to provide proper homes for Filipinos. The government targets to build six million homes by 2028.
“I am extending my congratulations to our beneficiaries as they start a new chapter in their lives!” he said.
Marcos said for many years the beneficiaries were at risk due to the dangers of living near the river.
“We are now here to provide a solution. They will now live in a house of their own which is safe, good quality and comfortable,” he added.
He asked the beneficiaries to maintain their new homes, saying they would serve as the foundation of their aspirations and better future and to enrich their community for them to flourish and live a comfortable life together.
The President also assured the public that the government will continue to work hard to provide those without a home of their own with decent, affordable housing under the Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino Housing Program (4PH program).
The low-rise housing project is composed of six three-story condominium-type buildings with 12 27 sqm. units per floor each equipped with two bedrooms, a kitchen, a bathroom, a waterline and electricity.
