Greenfield District Food Truck Fest anniversary, Celebrity ‘Car Boot Sale’

Celebrating theFood Truck Fest’s first anniversary, the Greenfield District Corp. (GDC) gathered celebrities and influencers in the recently concluded “Car Boot Sale” at the Mayflower Parking Area of Greenfield District.

Atty. Duane A.X. Santos, GDC executive vice president, said the Food Truck Fest is the biggest gathering of food trucks parked regularly in one venue in Metro Manila.

“We added the Car Boot Sale to complement the Food Truck Fest, which offers a unique and safe al fresco dining experience to the public with 18 food trucks set up at the heart of Mandaluyong’s Greenfield District,” he said, adding strict health protocols are in place to ensure the safety of the public.

“We wanted to have a shopping component that would go well with the Food Truck Fest, so we came up with the concept where vehicles will serve as merchants’ stores,” he explained. “We are exploring other themes and will be coming up with more exciting concepts next year.”

Santos also encouraged entrepreneurs, including startups, to sell their products and test the market.He said the event also aims to raise awareness among the public on supporting local sellers and protecting the environment by using reusable bags.

“Soon, we intend to come up with more interesting and fun activities and offer a possible venue for outdoor corporate events like product launches, especially since it already has a captured market,” Santos added.

The Food Truck Fest runs daily from Monday to Thursday, from 4pm until 10 pm, and Friday to Sunday, from 4pm until 12 midnight.

Primehomes lights up Capitol Hills with festive giant lantern display

Primehomes Real Estate Development, Inc. (PREDI) officially presented its giant Christmas lantern in Capitol Hills, Quezon City.

The giant lantern sitting atop Casa Hardin, now donning a Filipoino-inspired them, is an interactive park for the resident community. Casa Hardin boasts of a variety of commercial options in its Sales Pavilion ideal for Christmas shopping. Visitors may also visit and explore the nearby Christmas bazaar to enjoy classic Filipino delicacies and products.

“At the nativity, the star that shone the brightest led to the best destination. This is what our giant lantern symbolizes. Creating purposeful spaces is at the heart of Primehomes, and with the giant lantern display at Casa Hardin, we hope to provide Filipino families with a new festive place to celebrate the magical spirit of the holiday without needing to leave Metro Manila,” said Primehomes Marketing Head Grace Feliciano.

Visitors are urged to visit Casa Hardin at dusk hours when the giant lantern shines at its peak alongside a view of the clear dark sky. It also serves as a perfect spot to visit right after Simbang Gabi to delight in the spirit of the holiday. Primehomes’ Christmas lights display, including the giant Pampanga lantern, is on display until mid-January 2023.

The 20-foot tall and 20-foot-wide lantern was designed by lantern makers in San Fernando, Pampanga’s famous annual lantern-making competition as a celebration of the city’s Lantern Festival.

SM introduces first in-mall EV charging station in Baguio

SM Supermalls is making traveling sustainably to the country’s summer capital much more convenient with the launch of the very first Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station in SM City Baguio.

The EV charging station will feature the Tritium EV Charger from Emicor, SM Supermalls’ EV charging partner, making it the first mall in the City of Pines to bring free charging to its customers who use electric vehicles.

The charger can top up an average electric vehicle in just 30 minutes to an hour. The Tritum EV Charger is compatible with vehicles common in Europe, Australia, and South America, like the Renault Zoe, Peugeot e-208, Porsche Taycan, Volkswagen e-Golf, Tesla Model 3, Hyundai Ioniq, Audi e-tron, BMW i3, Jaguar I-PACE. It is also compatible with Japanese-made vehicles such as the Nissan Leaf and the Mitsubishi Outlander.

The installation of an EV charging station in SM City Baguio is part of SM Supermalls’ larger thrust to care for the environment and build more disaster resilient communities. SM has planted 600,000 trees in the countryside. SM City Baguio also features an underground rainwater catchment tank that helps mitigate the impact of heavy rains on Baguio.

SM Supermalls, the first mall chain to establish in-mall e-Vehicle charging sites in the Philippines, has now a total of over 22 chargers installed in 16 malls located in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The charging stations are in SM Supermalls’ partnership with the Department of Energy, Department of Transportation, and the Department of Trade and Industry to accelerate the government’s renewable energy and sustainability initiatives.

The Zero Emissions agenda includes the increased use of renewable energy to 50% by 2022 across all of its business segments, ahead of the national goal to be 35% renewable by 2030.

MPIC bags awards

KonsultaMD donates  medicines
