The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has approved the appointments of the first executive officers of the Philippine Tax Academy (PTA), the Department of Finance (DOF) said.

Gil Beltran, PTA president and DOF chief economist, said the CSC cleared the appointments of the chancellor for the Local Government Finance Institute and the two chancellors for the Customs Institute of the Academy.

The PTA Board of Trustees earlier elected Beltran as the institution’s first president. The PTA Board’s co-vice chairpersons are Caesar Dulay, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) commissioner, and Rey Leonardo Guerrero, Bureau of Customs (BOC) commissioner, with Niño Raymond Alvina, Bureau of Local Government Finance (BLGF) executive director, as member.

Also appointed as chancellor of the PTA is Ma. Teresa Habitan, a retired DOF assistant secretary who, like Beltran, was involved in crafting the Duterte administration’s comprehensive tax reform program.
