Saisha Gupta, a 17 year old student at International School Manila (ISM) has successfully combined her passion for art and sustainability to raise PHP 140,500 for the Reception and Study Center for Children (RSCC). Gupta, who is also a sustainable art creator, channeled her creativity and problem-solving skills from her Visual Arts and Higher Level Design Technology course at ISM into a cause.

The artist, Saisha Gupta

Gupta established “In Need?…Indeed.” one and a half years ago as a platform to merge her artistic talents with community service. Following a successful first auction in January 2024, which raised PHP 110,000 for Chosen Children Village through the sale of 14 artworks, Gupta organized a second auction in February 2025. This year, she auctioned 19 of her artworks, directing the proceeds to RSCC.

The funds will allow the center to acquire essential supplies such as food, toiletries, garments, cleaning materials, school/office supplies, and equipment such as a printer, wall fan, and grass cutter.

Gupta emphasizes the importance of sustainability, stating, “As the world is evolving, our generation is responsible for the planet that we call home…Awareness is key, but action is what defines changes.” Her work aims to demonstrate the coexistence of sustainability and art, using artistic expression to upvalue waste and connect with others through shared experiences.

‘In Need?…Indeed’ in full swing

RSCC is a 24-hour residential facility that provides emotional support to children aged 0-6. It offers temporary care and rehabilitation for children who have been neglected, abandoned, abused, or exploited, as well those with special needs, including at-risk children and those in need of alternative family care. RSCC strives to give these vulnerable children the protection and assistance they deserve.
