Miles Ocampo celebrates her twentieth anniversary in the entertainment industry by starring in her own TV series, “Padyak Princess,” which premieres on June 10 on TV5. In this series, Miles takes on the role of Princess, a charming and determined young woman who dreams of reviving her family’s reputation and her barangay’s golden days. To support her family, Princess becomes the breadwinner, facing life’s challenges with courage, determination, and humor.
At the press conference last Tuesday at the TV5 Media Center in Mandaluyong, a teary-eyed Miles was introduced as the “Padyak Princess.” Recalling when she was first presented with the project last January, she said, “Naiyak po ako,” expressing her gratitude to producer APT and TV5 for their trust. She even asked the producers if they were sure “Padyak Princess” was really for her, saying, “Napakalaking project ito.”
In addition to “Padyak Princess,” which airs Monday to Friday at 11:15 a.m. with same-day catch-up on BuKo at 7:30 p.m., Miles is also part of “Emojination,” airing every Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on TV5 and at 7 p.m. on BuKo Channel. She is also a regular on the longest-running noontime show, “Eat Bulaga,” which airs Monday to Saturday. Her packed schedule throughout the week has earned her the moniker “Rakitera ng Taon.”
Having been in the limelight since she was seven, all the projects and praise have made Miles feel grateful. “Sabi ko nga, naninibago po ako dahil hindi ako sanay na ganito,” she said in an interview. “I am enjoying the whole journey and grateful na mga tao sa paligid ko na nagtutulungan para mapaganda ang show.”
Joining Miles in the series are Ara Mina, Ces Quesada, Christian Vasquez, Cris Villanueva, Yayo Aguila, Gillian Vicencio, Jameson Blake, Jem Manicad, Joao Constancia, Karissa Toliongco, Kira Balinger, David Remo, and Miel Espinoza. Directed by Easy Ferrer, “Padyak Princess” airs Monday to Friday at 11:15 a.m. beginning June 10.
