THE Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) yesterday welcomed the push being made by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for the continuation of the work-from-home scheme in the private sector.
In a statement, TUCP President Raymond Mendoza said they support the position of the DOLE as it will doubly benefit workers.
“We laud this revised IRR as a significant step towards the full implementation of the Telecommuting Act, especially now that we are confronting the double whammy of the continuing threat of the pandemic and the spiking prices of oil and basic commodities,” said Mendoza.
“This is an appropriate policy response for the welfare of the workers amidst the ongoing pandemic and the surging inflation,” he added.
The labor leader urged employers to work with their employees in adopting the scheme.
