Welfareville Compound in Mandaluyong under week-long total lockdown

THE city government of Mandaluyong has imposed a total lockdown on Welfareville Compound in Barangay Addition Hills starting Thursday until midnight of May 13 while rapid COVID-19 testing is being conducted on some 3,000 residents.

Barangay Addition Hills has recorded 58 confirmed cases and 159 suspected cases.

Residents who will yield positive results will be subjected to PCR testing and placed in a government isolation facility to spare infecting their family members.

Mayor Menchie Abalos has signed Executive Order 15 which imposes stringent quarantine regulations on the compound, among them the cancellation of all quarantine passes during the week-long period and strict stay-at-home directives. Residents can only leave their homes for emergency medical purposes.

All establishments and offices in the compound will be closed, except government offices, the Correctional Institute for Women and medical and health offices.

Delivery services for residents will be allowed such as gas, water, and food but unauthorized vehicles are barred from entering and leaving the compound. Even wet markets and supermarkets will be closed during the total lockdown period.

Relief operations and goods distribution are also temporarily suspended.

Residents who violate the ordinance will be charged for non-cooperation during a health event or public concern.
