PRESIDENT Marcos Jr. yesterday congratulated Filipino gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo anew for bagging the country’s second gold medal in the Paris 2024 Olympics.
“No words can express how proud we are of you, Caloy! You have achieved gold for the Philippines not once, but twice!” the President said on his official social media accounts.
Marcos said Filipinos all over the world stood united, cheered and rooted for Yulo when he competed in the men’s vault finals on Sunday night (Philippine time).
“Aming ipinagmamalaki ang tagumpay mong nangniningning! Saludo kami sa iyo! (We are proud of your shining success! We salute you!),” he added.
First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos said watching Yulo win the gold a second time was “incredible.”
“You’ve made your country proud. Philippine galing!” Araneta-Marcos said on her social media pages.
Last Saturday (Philippine time), also won the gold in the men’s floor exercises.
