THE Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the PNP yesterday said it has new leads on the whereabouts of former presidential spokesman Harry Roque who has been ordered arrested by the House of Representatives.
In a radio interview, CIDG spokesperson Lt. Col. Imelda Reyes also warned people against coddling Roque, saying criminal charges may be filed against them for obstruction of justice.
Roque was recently ordered arrested by the House’s quad committee after he was cited in contempt for failing to submit subpoenaed documents in connection with the panel’s ongoing probe on the operations of illegal offshore gaming hubs.
Policemen have already gone to known addresses of Roque in the past days but failed to find and arrest him.
The House of Representatives now considers Roque a “fugitive,” saying he has gone into hiding to evade the arrest warrant.
“Fortunately, as of now, we have additional information as to his current (location). We cannot reveal them (details),” said Reyes, adding that CIDG tracker teams are still deployed to locate and arrest Roque.
“We’re following up (leads) as of now but we cannot reveal (the details),” she also said.
Reyes said the PNP will file charges against people who are coddling the former lawmaker.
“The moment we establish that people are obstructing our efforts to locate him, that’s automatic,” she said.
