THOUSANDS are expected to gather in Manila on February 17 as the Catholic faithful hold the annual “Walk for Life” to highlight the importance of keeping human life sacred.
In a social media post, the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas (Laiko) announced the holding of the “Walk for Life 2024” on February 17 from the Welcome Rotonda in Quezon City to the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Grandstand in Manila.
“We would like to invite you to participate actively in upholding, promoting, and defending the sacredness of life and the dignity of every person,” Laiko said.
“We hope to see you all there! Join more than 5,000 people who will walk for the sanctity of life,” it added.
Behind the theme “Together, We Walk for Life,” the event will begin at 4 a.m. at the Welcome Rotonda and last until 8 a.m. at the UST Grandstand.
The program will be capped by a Holy Mass to be celebrated by Manila Archbishop Cardinal Jose Advincula.
The “Walk for Life” is an annual event sponsored by the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas to reaffirm its commitment to uphold, promote, and defend the sacredness of life and the dignity of every person.
First held in 2017, the event has since become a yearly event to defend the “culture of life” against the “culture of death.”
