ELECTIONS chairman George Garcia yesterday said voter registration activities nationwide will resume on February 12 and run until September 30.
In a phone interview, Garcia said Commission on Elections (Comelec) en banc has already approved the schedule.
“To those looking to get registered as voters, you can do so beginning February 12 until September 30,” he said.
The voter registration period will take place ahead of the May 2025 national and local polls.
According to the poll chief, they expect around three million to apply to become registered voters.
“Our projected number of registered voters is around three million, which shall be added to the current 68 million voters,” said Garcia.
The last voter registration period held in the country was from December 12, 2022 to January 31, 2023 in connection with the conduct of the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) held on October 30, 2023.
The last voter registration period netted 1.6 million additional registered voters.
