THE voter registration period is set to resume next month, weeks after the May 9 national and local elections and six months before the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan polls in December, according to the Commission on Elections (Comelec).
“By June or July, we will already resume the registration of voters,” said Comelec Commissioner George Garcia in a press conference yesterday.
“To those that have yet to become registered voters, watch out for the resumption of voter registration by June or by the first week of July,” he added.
Garcia said voter registration will also include those who are looking to vote in the SK elections.
He said the restart of the voter registration will be the official beginning of the poll body’s preparations for the barangay and youth polls.
To recall, the voter registration period prior to the May 2022 polls ended on October 30 last year.
