THE Commission on Elections (Comelec) resumes today all voter registration activities nationwide following a week-long break to allow 2022 election candidates to file their certificates of candidacy.

In a social media post, Comelec spokesman James Jimenez urged the public to get registered as voters in the May 2022 polls as soon as possible and not wait for the last minute before filing their application.

“After the filing of COCs, #VoterReg na naman uli. #MagparehistroKa na!” said Jimenez.

Under Comelec Resolution No. 10720, the extended period for the nationwide conduct of the system of continuing registration of voters shall be from October 11 until 30, 2021.

The voter’s registration days shall be from Monday to Friday, except on October 30, which falls on a Saturday.

The voter’s registration hours shall be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Jimenez said voter registration will be held in all Office of Election Officers (OEOs) or mall registration sites. There shall be no satellite voter’s registration in the barangays.

Jimenez also said that there will be no voter registration activities in areas under enhanced community quarantine.

The voter registration period was supposed to end on September 30 but was extended by the Comelec after a clamor from lawmakers and the public to allow more people to enlist.
