THE United States government has cancelled the visa issued to alleged “recycling” drug queen Guia Gomez Castro, the Department of Justice said yesterday.

With her visa revoked, Justice Undersecretary Markk Perete said the Philippine government can now request that Castro be deported back to the country.

The PNP on Tuesday said Castro, believed to be the lady mastermind of a syndicate involved in the trading of recycled illegal drugs in connivance with “ninja cops,” has escaped to the USA via Los Angeles in California.

The immigration bureau has earlier confirmed that Castro left the country for Bangkok, last September 21. Records show she flew to Taiwan on the morning of September 25 and used it as exit point for her Los Angeles trip in the afternoon of the same day.

“Upon the request of the Department of Justice, the US visa granted to alleged drug queen Guia Gomez Castro has been cancelled. The Bureau of Immigration is now working with US immigration authorities to effect her deportation to the Philippines,” Perete said.

Castro, a former chairwoman of barangay 498, Zone 48 in Sampaloc, Manila, has standing warrants of arrest for a 2002 case for the selling, delivery and distribution of illegal drugs; and a 2003 case for violation of the anti-bouncing checks law.

NCRPO Director Maj. General Guillermo Eleazar has said the arrest warrants were issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.

The justice department has earlier said it was mulling the issuance of an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) against Castro.

Though Castro has already left the country, Perete said an ILBO will allow authorities to activate monitoring of her whereabouts abroad through the Interpol.
