THE US Embassy in Manila on Sunday announced the cancellation of all immigrant and non-immigrant visa interview schedules through May 31 due to the extended enhanced community quarantine to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
The embassy said it will resume routine visa services as soon as possible but added it cannot give an exact date.
“After the enhanced community quarantine is lifted in Metro Manila, all affected applicants should reschedule their visa interviews through the Embassy Call Center by phone at +63277928988 and +63285488223, or through the online appointment system at ustraveldocs.com/ph,” the embassy said.
It added no fee will be charged for a change in appointment while visa application fees are valid for one year if the fee has been paid.
The embassy first postponed visa appointments on March 18 after the declaration of the enhanced community quarantine that was supposed to end on April 12 but was extended to April 30 and later to May 15.
In 2018, the US Embassy issued 204,137 visas to Filipino travelers.
