UP-Manila graduates top physician licensure exams

ALMOST 4,000 examinees passed the October 2022 Physician Licensure Examination, with students of the University of the Philippines-Manila taking the top two spots.

In a statement, the Professional Regulation Commission reported that 64 percent of the examinees passed the exams held last month.

“PRC announces that 3,826 out of 5,958 passed the Physician Licensure Examination given by the Board of Medicine,” the PRC said.

Justin Adriel Togonon and Francesca Marie Lagrosa of U-Manila ranked 1st and 2nd after getting 89 and 88.75 percent, respectively.

Completing the Top 5 were Karla Joyce Badong of the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (88%), Kim Zapatos Sia of University of Santo Tomas (87.67%), and Gamaliel Galigao of University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center and Mark Arlo Segundo of West Visayas State University (87.58%).

Tied at 6th were Christian Joseph Cruzado of Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation and Sonny Redula of Cebu Institute of Medicine (87.50%), followed by Neill Steven Cachuela of University of Santo Tomas and Trisha Marie Galapon of UP Manila (87.42%).

Bunched at 8th with 87.25 percent were Anna Patricia Bartolome of Our Lady of Fatima University, Christopher Pilarta of UP Manila, Randy Franz Selim of St. Luke’s Medical Center-College of Medicine, and Keith Alexius Wangkay of University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center.

Christian Jerell Cosme of University of Santo Tomas stood all alone in ninth after getting 87.17 percent, followed by David Marco Bildan of University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Mark Johnuel Duavis of University of Cebu-College of Medicine, Christine Bernadette Lo of UP Manila, and Hannah Leian Tan of Davao Medical School Foundation (87.08%).

The PRC said the initial registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will be done online (www.prc.gov.ph) on December 22-23 and 26-29, 2022, and January 2-5, 2023.

Successful examinees are also required to personally register and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals, while bringing the downloaded duly accomplished Oath Form, notice of admission (for identification only), 2 pieces passport sized pictures (colored with white background and complete name tag), 2 sets of documentary stamps, and one short brown envelope.

The PRC said the date and venue for the oath-taking ceremony of the successful examinees will be announced later.
