The first episode of Rep. Geraldine Roman’s YouTube vlog, “Geraldine Romantik,” will be dropping today, November 30, at 7 p.m. In it, the 55-year-old lady solon will allow herself to get up close and personal with netizens. In “Let’s get to know Geraldine Roman,” the first transgender person to be elected to the Philippine House of Representatives will tell her story, from growing up in a political family to being designated as chairperson of the House Committee on Women and Gender Equality.
When asked if she is romantic, Rep. Geraldine said, “I’d like to say I am romantic with my constituents, my team, my job, the public. I am romantic because I love serving the people.
“Wag nating limitahan ang kaluhugan ng salitang ‘romantic’ sa pagitan ng dalawang taong nag-iibigan!
“Tandaan, lahat tayo ay pwedeng maging romantic. And you don’t need a boyfriend, girlfriend, or a large following to accomplish that.”
Her vlog will also introduce her many accomplishments in the six years that she has been in Congress, including passing bills covering education, health care, environmental quality. Some of her advocacies are equality, Oh My Gulay! Healthy Na, May Kita Pa Program, Ecotourism, Farm to Market Road Project, Basic Digital Literacy Training.
