VICE presidential aspirant Sara Duterte-Carpio kicked off the UniTeam campaign in San Pedro in Laguna yesterday with a thanksgiving mass where she and her companions were prayed over and blessed with the hope that they will be safe and succeed in their endeavors.
After the mass, Duterte-Carpio met with community leaders from Laguna at the Jam Compound in San Pedro before joining members of the UniTeam in a grand rally in Biñan.
She thanked the community leaders for their support and reaffirmed her promise to promote jobs especially for small and medium enterprises by opening the economy amid improved COVID-19 situation in the country, ensuring access to quality education, and ensuring peaceful living by continuing the campaign of her father, outgoing President Duterte, against crime and illegal drugs.
In an interview, Duterte-Carpio said she returned to campaign in provinces like Laguna and Batangas because she still has a lot to campaign for and win votes from.
Asked about her chances in the polls with less than three weeks remaining until the elections, she said in mixed Filipino and English, “We do not have the confidence of winning. We are always running scared even if we’re only 17 days away from election day and we’re worried about election day and we always call on everyone to support an honest, orderly and peaceful election for our country.
