GOVERNMENT troops on Tuesday seized a lair of the communist New People’s Army after a firefight in San Narciso town in Quezon, the military reported yesterday.
Capt. Jayrald Ternio, spokesman of the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division based in Tanay, Rizal, said soldiers recovered three high-powered firearms and bomb components from the lair.
Ternio said troops from the Army’s 85th Infantry Battalion raided the NPA lair in Barangay Abuyon on information provided by concerned citizens.

Ternio said soldiers clashed with 15 rebels manning the lair for about 20 minutes. The group was led by one Joseph delos Santos alias Ken and Bingot.
