AT least 1,500 workers are needed by the tourism industry, which is looking to go full blast in recovering from the effects of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic.
In a statement, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) said there an initial 1,500 job vacancies across the country as reported by the DOT.
“Based on initial survey reports from DOT Regional Offices, about 1,500 job vacancies have been solicited from its private partners as of 27 August 2022,” Labor Secretary Bienvenido Laguesma said..
“These vacancies are expected to increase,” he added.
To link workers to the recovering tourism industry, Laguesma said they are set to start the planned series of job fairs to be conducted with the DOT.
He said the Philippine Tourism Job Fair series will be launched via the virtual job fairs from September 22 to 24 in Cebu and Davao.
Simultaneously, DOLE said there will be face-to-face job fairs at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
