TOURISM Secretary Christina Frasco has taken a “short leave” effective July 13 “to spend time with her young family,” the agency’s Office of Public Affairs and Advocacy (OPAA) said yesterday.
Undersecretary Elaine Bathan has been named as DOT officer-in-charge.
The OPPA said Frasco’s leave application was filed and received by the Office of the President last May 9 and approved last May 23, long before the controversy surrounding the new tourism campaign of the agency.
The OPAA did not say when Frasco will return to work but said she is confirmed to attend the second State of the Nation Address President Marcos Jr. on July 24.
The DOT’s “Love the Philippines” campaign became controversial when a video show during the launch last June 27 was found to have included stock footage from other countries.
