Makati Mayor Abby Binay said more than 2,000 frontliners in Makati received wellness kits on Wednesday as the city’s way of showing gratitude to them.

“Through these wellness kits, we aim to send a message of thanks to our medical frontliners. We want to show them that we care and we treasure them. We gratefully attribute to their tireless efforts and contributions the effectiveness of our COVID-19 response,” Binay said.

She said 2,536 health workers and frontliners from the Makati Health Department (MHD), Ospital ng Makati (OsMak), and Incident Command Post (ICP) received wellness kits containing grocery items, a juice box with a reusable tumbler, one dozen original glazed flavored donuts, and a food voucher worth P500.

Aside from providing adequate personal protective equipment (PPE), hazard pay, free shuttle services, vitamins, free flu and pneumonia vaccination, and free mass testing for the health workers, the city also approved the increase of salary for nurses and the additional hiring of health workers in Makati. — With Noel Talacay
