THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) yesterday warned the public against fake National Certificates (NCs) being sold online and on other channels.
In a statement, TESDA Director General Suharto Mangudadatu said “NCs are only issued by TESDA offices to qualified individuals, who have passed the assessment for their respective qualifications.”
He advised employers against fake NCs being submitted by job applicants.
He said valid and authentic NCs may be verified by employers online.
“TESDA’s Registry of Certified Workers can be accessed online through the agency’s website (https://www.tesda.gov.ph/Rwac),” said Mangudadatu.
Students, workers, or individuals who want to earn a National Certificate for skills they have learned may apply for assessment at private TESDA-accredited assessment centers or at TESDA regional and provincial offices nationwide.
NCs are required by employers, both locally and abroad, as proof of workers’ skills and their ability to perform jobs.
TESDA said the warning is being issued after reports that a man was arrested in Cotabato City for selling fake NCs.
“TESDA prioritizes the integrity of its certification system in certifying middle-level workers to ensure their productivity, quality, and global competitiveness,” Mangudadatu said.
