THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) is upbeat over its return to the fold of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) four years since it was transferred to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

In a statement, TESDA Director General Danilo Cruz said they welcome the issuance of Executive Order (EO) No. 5 formalizing the transfer of TESDA to DOLE.

“The two agencies can work together to beef up and expand TESDA and DOLE’s employment facilitation programs,” said Cruz.

“Our return to DOLE serves as a great opportunity to synergize the strengths of both agencies, which will eventually address the perennial problem of skills-job mismatch,” he added.
