THE Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) yesterday said graduates of technical vocational (tech-voc) courses will be able to use what they have learned to eventually earn a college degree.
The agency said tech-voc students and graduates can earn college degree credits for subjects they have already taken under the Philippine Credit Transfer System (PCTS).
“Tech-voc students and graduates can earn college degree credits for subjects they have already taken, and will not have to take the same subjects again should they decide to pursue a bachelor’s degree,” TESDA Director General Danilo Cruz said in a statement.
“Trainees and graduates of tech-voc courses will soon find it easier to finish a college degree,” he added.
Cruz said the development is part of the Joint Memorandum Circular No. 01 they issued with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) earlier this month.
The joint circular seeks to implement the PCTS, which facilitates the seamless movement of students and finishers from a vocational course to a college degree program.
