SIXTY workers have been left jobless after the closure of TeleRadyo of ABS-CBN Corporation last June 30.

In a statement, the Department of Labor and Employment — National Capital Region (DOLE-NCR) said 60 employees of TeleRadyo were retrenched, based on the ABS-CBN report.

“TeleRadyo, which formerly airs DZMM programs, had to cease its operations on June 30 due to financial losses,” it added.

DOLE-NCR said it deployed its Quick Response Team (QRT) to assist in the payment of the separation pay of the retrenched workers.

It said 35 workers were able to receive their separation pay on July 19 and July 28.

Other affected workers, DOLE-NCR added, are set to receive their monetary claims.

It also said other workers were given the opportunity to be placed or transferred to other positions or divisions within the company.

TeleRadyo ceased operations last June 30 due to financial losses incurred since 2020.
