A 17-YEAR-OLD boy died, five other teenagers were injured, and seven others went missing when a bridge where they were hanging out in Dasmariñas City, Cavite collapsed last Tuesday night.
The Cavite provincial police office identified the fatality as John Michael Beltran, who was declared dead on arrival at the Pagamutan ng Dasmariñas.
Rescued with injuries and currently recuperating at the same hospital were Jeralden Pacia, 16; Lester Neri, 16; Generos Pacia, 16; Danica Uy, 12; and Lyka Briones, 18.
The Cavite provincial police said the bridge in Tabing Ilog, Sitio Talisayan, Barangay Sampaloc 4 collapsed at around 9 p.m.
“Initial investigation conducted by Dasmariñas PNP disclosed that on the said time, while the 13 victims were hanging out on the said bridge, it suddenly collapsed and they fell to the river,” the Cavite police said in a statement.
