TEN days since launching the OFW Pass, technical issues continue to hound the system that is set to replace the overseas employment certificate (OEC) for overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

In a social media post, the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said the department’s technical team are fast tracking system and maintenance upgrade to address the glitches.

“Several issues may continue to be experienced while the technical team is doing the systems upgrade,” it said, saying the issues that may be experienced include inaccessibility of the system, and/or delays in logging in to the mobile application.

The DMW said the system is also still slow in responding and users may be unable to receive their One-Time Password (OTP) Authentication on time.

The DMW appealed for more patience from OFWs looking to process their passes.

“The maintenance and upgrading of the system are part of the pilot testing of the OFW Pass,” it said.

The DMW last July 21 held the ceremonial launch of the OFW Pass in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, Japan, Taiwan, and United Kingdom (UK). — Gerard Naval
