ONE of the suspects in the killing last May of Liloy, Zamboanga del Norte Regional Trial Court Judge Reymar Lacaya was arrested by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation last Monday in Mati, Davao Oriental.
NBI Deputy Director for Regional Operations Service Antonio Pagatpat presented Juliver Cabating to the media yesterday at the NBI main office in Manila.
Pagatpat said the operation was carried out by agents from the NBI field office in Davao assisted by personnel from its intelligence division and the PNP.
State prosecutors indicted Cabating and two others identified only as Jerry and Ramil last
July 2 before the Liloy RTC after preliminary investigation showed probable cause in the murder case filed by Lacaya’s widow, Violeta.
Provincial Prosecutor Gabino Saavedra II said they indicted the three due to circumstantial evidence pointing to Cabating as the main suspect in Lacaya’s killing.
Saavedra said the evidence included testimonies of witnesses and footage taken by close circuit television camera.
