Sounds of Manila, Aliw Awardee for Best Group Artists Based Abroad, is a Filipino- American band which started its humble beginnings in New Jersey, where all the members are based. To date, the group has performed across the United States and in Canada and has even released its debut album produced by multi-awarded singer- songwriter, Cecile Azarcon-Inocentes.
Sounds of Manila (SoM) will mark its 14th year in the music scene with a Homecoming Concert in the Philippines this Saturday, July 15 at the U.P. Bahay ng Alumni at the U.P. Diliman Campus in Quezon City. They will be performing songs from their first album, “Sounds of Manila Sings Cecile Azarcon,” their newly- released duet “Ikaw Lamang” written by Malen Juarez, the eponymous “Sounds of Manila” theme song penned by upcoming songwriter Ronnie Lee, and classic hit dance music from the ‘70s and ‘80s.
The members of SoM are Suzanne Sabangan (vocals), Efi Sunga (vocals), Marla Villacorte (back-up vocals), Ronnie Sabangan (bass/ band leader), Paulo Areza (keyboard/ musical director), JR Gendrano (drums), Neil Estanislao (keyboard), Jason Paguiligan (lead guitar), Christian Hidalgo (percussions), Kyle Crouchelli (saxophone/ flute), Jing Villegas (keyboard), and Jonah Balagtas (guitar).
Special guests at the show include singer, songwriter, OPM hitman Rannie Z. Raymundo, Fil-Am singer Shanice Aquino and Freeverse singer and guitarist Kiko Verzosa.
Tickets prices are P3000 for VVIP, P2500 for VIP and P1000 for general admission.
Part of the proceeds will go to Bahay Aruga, a Halfway house for pediatric cancer patients.
