POLICE operatives apprehended on Tuesday two detainees who were reportedly allowed by officials of a police station in Sorsogon to go out of their cell without pertinent order from the court.
The two, JR Genablazo and Pedro Garote, detainees at the Matnog municipal police station in Sorsogon, are facing charges of peddling illegal drugs and rape, respectively.
They were apprehended by operatives of the PNP Integrity Monitoring and Enforcement Group aboard a motorcycle at the vicinity of the Matnog public market on Tuesday morning.
“Both of them were always seen outside the detention cell without pertinent documents or court orders,” said IMEG chief Brig. Gen. Oliver Enmodias.
Enmodias said IMEG is coordinating with the Bicol regional police office for the conduct of investigation against Matnog police personnel who allowed the detainees to go out of their cell. He did not name names.
