POLICE operatives arrested a soldier facing a murder case in Pagadian City in Zamboanga del Sur, it was reported yesterday.
The Zamboanga Peninsula regional police office identified the suspect as Corporal Bryan Boniao Santander, 35, a resident of Purok Kamunggay, Barangay Alegria in Pagadian City.
Santander was arrested at Purok Kamunggay at around 6:22 p.m. last Saturday by operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and Zamboanga del Sur PNP.
Santander’s arrest was made by virtue of an arrest warrant issued by Lanao del Sur Judge Wenida Papandayan for murder. Seized from him was a 9 mm pistol, four magazines and 99 rounds of ammunition.
His co-accused in the case, Corporal Cerilo Mag-Abo, is still at-large.
Police described Santander as No. 2 most wanted person of Ganassi town in Lanao del Sur.
Santander and Mag-Abo were charged with murder for the July 22, 2013 killing of Sedik Lanto Tanog in Ganassi town using high-powered firearms.
