A SINKHOLE was discovered in the middle of Sales Road near the Villamor Air Base in Pasay City yesterday, prompting the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority to advise motorists to take alternative routes.
In a post on its official Facebook page, the MMDA said its traffic personnel spotted a sinkhole in the middle of the road near Gate 3 of the Villamor Air Base.
“Traffic barriers and traffic cones were installed to prevent an accident,” the agency said.
The MMDA added that personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways are fixing the sinkhole, making certain portions of the road temporarily inaccessible to motorists.
A team from the SMC Infrastructures was also sent to the area to drain the water from the sinkhole.
The MMDA has yet to determine what caused the sinkhole.
