Actress Sharon Cuneta has a new hairstyle — and a new bust size — when she met the press last Wednesday, August 4, for the Zoom press con of her movie “Revirginized.”
The megastar was sporting shoulder length hair and bangs — which she said she cut herself. She also excused herself several times during the interview to fix her bra strap.
She late explained that weight gain, pregnancy and breastfeeding made her bosoms grow, so that when she lost weight, the extra skin made her feel uncomfortable. She opted to have a breast reduction procedure and a bust lift in the United States, adding that she now needs to buy new brassieres for her smaller bosoms.
She also talked about being proud of the film, written and directed by Darryl Yap. Sharon said “Revirginized” showed her doing something she never did in her other films — swearing, drinking tequila, doing body shots on her leading man (Marco Gumabao), and being an MILF.
In the film, Sharon’s character, Carmela, got pregnant at 16 by her boyfriend who eventually became her husband, played by Albert Martinez. She is later dumped by her husband. One drunken night, Carmela gets to throw her cares, savor life — and have a one-night stand with a young hunk.
That faithful evening leads Carmela to a life-changing realization.
Sharon’s wish is that her fans look beyond what they may deem as lewd or unbecoming of their revered idol — but see the heart of the movie.
“Ang cute na may na-shock pero natutuwa [nung nakita ‘yung tráiler]. Yung iba, ‘Oh no, it’s not the Sharon I grew up with.’ I’m sorry hindi nya kaya. I hope they give it a chance. I won’t do a movie just for the sake of being vulgar. [After all] it’s an actor’s responsibility to portray different roles. And that’s what I’m doing. I’m very proud of Carmela and Revirginized because meron siyang saving grace sa ending. She had to go through that to get to the ending na importante,” she said.
“Revirginized” is available on ktx.ph, iWantTFC, TFC IPTV, SKY PPV, and on Vivamax. It will also be shown on Cignal PPV this August 27. It will also have theatrical release in US and Canada on August 13.
