THE results of the 2024 Shari’ah Bar examination will be released on July 16, the Supreme Court said yesterday.
Associate Justice and 2024 Shari’ah Bar Exams Chairperson Maria Filomena Singh said the results and the list of the successful examinees will also be posted on the website and social media accounts of the SC.
Singh said the oathtaking and roll signing ceremonies for the successful Shari’ah bar examinees will be held on August 14 at the Manila Hotel.
A total of 852 individuals took the 2024 Shariáh bar examinations last April 28 and May 2.
The SC originally set the examinations to be held on February 25 and 28 but was rescheduled in anticipation of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan and to allow prospective examinees additional time to prepare the requirements and to review.
Among the subjects tackled during the examinations are Persons, Family Relations and Property; and Jurisprudence, Customary Laws, Procedure in Shari’ah Courts; and Succession, Wills and Adjudication and Settlement of Estate.
The Shari’ah Bar examinations are administered to allow Muslim professionals to qualify and practice before the Shari’ah Courts in the Philippines constituted under Presidential Decree 1083, or the Code of Muslim Personal Laws of the Philippines.
The Shari’ah courts are courts of justice that have original jurisdiction over cases involving violations of Presidential Decree 1083.
