Shabu worth P88M seized in Cavite; 3 pushers nabbed

THREE suspected drug peddlers were arrested and 13 kilos of suspected shabu worth P88.4 million were seized in an anti-narcotics operation in Bacoor City, Cavite on Sunday, it was reported yesterday.

In a press briefing at the PNP national headquarters in Camp Crame, PNP chief Camilo Cascolan identified the suspects as Bino Sampaco, 43; Mira-ato Macarampat, alias Rhash; and Javier Sultan Mala, 43;

Sampaco and Mala were nabbed by operatives of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group and Bacoor City PNP in a buy-bust operation in front of a fast food chain in Barangay Molino 2 at around noon. They yielded five kilos of shabu worth P34 million and the buy-bust money.

Macarampat was arrested in another buy-bust operation shortly after in Barangay Mambog 2. He yielded eight kilos of shabu worth P54.4 million.

Cascolan said the arrest of the suspect was part of the PNPs “continuing aggressive operations against illegal drugs.”

Cascolan described two of the suspects as “high-value targets who are considered main players in trafficking of illegal drugs in the Cavite and Southern Metro Manila area.”

In Caloocan City, operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested five suspected drug peddlers in a raid that led to the dismantling of a suspected drug den on Saturday.

PDEA spokesman Derrick Carreon identified the suspects as Bobby Aguilar, Joseph Badoria, Menard Ranjo, Jason Martinez, and Mark Joel Evangelista.

Carreon said the suspects were nabbed in Barangay Bagong Barrio at around 5:15 p.m.

They yielded 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000 and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Fifteen minutes later, PDEA operatives nabbed another suspected pusher, Aloysious Jacinto, who yielded 18 grams of shabu worth P122,000, drug paraphernalia and a cell phone.

Two men and a woman were arrested in buy-bust operations in Cardona and Binangonan, Rizal, with P104,800 worth of suspected shabu seized.

Col. Joseph Arguelles, Rizal PNP provincial director, identified the three as Conchita Seringan; Jake Mesa; and Francis Santos. Seized from them were 21.6 grams of suspected shabu. — With Christian Oineza
