A SENEGALESE is under investigation and faces deportation after his representative presented a fake passport and border arrival stamp in an application for extension of his tourist visa.
BI spokesperson Dana Krizia Sandoval said a representative of the 37-year-old Senegalese, whose identity was not released, filed the application early this month.
“It was confirmed (a) fake on April 11. He is not yet in our custody, as we have only intercepted the documents but we will still charge him. His visa extension was applied through a representative,” Sandoval said.
Earlier, BI Tourist Visa Section chief Raymond Remigio reported that his team noted various discrepancies on the Senegalese’s documentation.
Remigio said that frontliner Desiree Maliksi doubted the authenticity of the passport and referred the matter to him for secondary check.
They later submitted the documents to an examination by the BI’s forensic documents laboratory, which confirmed that the passport and border stamp presented were counterfeit.
