VICE presidential candidate Sara Duterte-Carpio yesterday committed to “move mountains” to serve the people if she wins the elections on May 9.
Duterte-Carpio, in an interview by Sen. Francis Tolentino in his program “Sa Ganang Mamamayan” over Net 25, said she is not claiming to be the best and brightest candidate, or will be the best vice president in the country, but she would do her best to fulfill her mandate.
“I will not say that I will be the best vice president we will ever have. We will let history be the judge of that. I am not the best. I am not the most brilliant candidate out there. Pero kung meron kang ipapagawa sa akin, I will move mountains para ma-deliver yan sa iyo (But if you ask me to do something, I will move mountains to deliver),” she said.
Duterte-Carpio also said the campaign allowed to interact more with more people unlike in 2019 when she campaigned for the Hugpong ng Pagbabago candidates. She said she found herself more on the road campaigning and talking to people, and spending limited time with her family. She said like all public servants, she draws strength from the fact that she is doing it to better serve the people and the country.
Duterte-Carpio said she is thankful for the people’s support and urged them to respect each other’s political opinions and the results of the elections on May 9.
The UniTeam of Duterte-Carpio and presidential bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. will kick off their final campaign rallies in Iloilo on Tuesday.
The Visayas rally will be held at the Guimbal football field in Guimbal, Iloilo to be followed by a “miting de avance” at city hall grounds in Tagum City in Davao del Norte. The culminating Luzon rally will be held on Saturday at a lot fronting Solaire Resort in Parañaque City.
“These are the culmination of our cross-country campaign visits. On behalf of our candidates, let me express our sincere gratitude to our supporters, local officials, and community and sectoral leaders, and ordinary Filipinos who have been helping and supporting us. Let us keep it up until we achieve victory,” said campaign manager and House majority leader Martin Romualdez in a press statement.
