VICE President-elect Sara Duterte-Carpio will meet with the country’s former vice presidents to discuss their allotted security from the newly-activated Vice Presidential Security and Protection Group and her planned vice president’s museum.

Reynold Munsayac, Duterte-Carpio’s spokesperson, said the incoming Vice President will invite the former vice presidents over lunch but added their attendance will depend on their interest to her invitation and their schedules.

Munsayac said Duterte-Carpio has no scheduled meeting with outgoing Vice President Leni Robredo before June 30.

The VPSPG was activated last week at the AFP General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo as a dedicated unit to provide protection to the Vice President and her family
AFP Chief Gen. Andres Centino said Lt. Col. Rene Giroy of the Philippine Army will be the first VPSPG group commander.

“The AFP saw it fitting to provide the Office of the Vice President a dedicated unit that shall ensure the safety and security of the second-highest elected official in the country,” Centino said.
