VICE President-elect Sara Duterte has named lawyer and former Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) acting chairman Reynold Munsayac as her spokesman, vice Liloan Mayor Christina Frasco who has been nominated as Tourism secretary.
Munsayac assumed the post effective yesterday, according to a statement released by Duterte’s office.
Munsayac is a former law classmate of Duterte and the valedictorian of their class at the San Sebastian Recollectos.
In 2017, he assisted Duterte in the establishment of the worldwide aggrupation Tapang at Malasakit, while in 2021, Munsayac resigned as PCGG commissioner and acting chairman to help campaign for Sara.
Duterte expressed confidence in Munsayac, saying she expects him to bring with him his experience as a lawyer, along with his “unquestionable integrity and dedication to governance and public service,” when he assumes his new post.
Duterte also thanked Frasco and wished her luck in her new endeavor.
“The Vice President-elect is grateful for Mayor Frasco’s help in the timely and effective communication of her messages to the Filipinos through the media. She was committed to the truthful dissemination of information, and her duty as the spokesperson was marked with intelligence and grace,” the statement read.
Frasco was named by incoming president Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as his incoming Tourism secretary.
