PHILIPPINE Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) deputy director general Renato Gumban led the list of new appointments made by President Marcos Jr. to several agencies.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO), in a Facebook post, said Gumban, a retired police chief superintendent, was appointed to his new post last May 17.
Also appointed last May 17 were former Presidential Commission on Urban Poor head Alvin Feliciano, who was named as National Housing Authority (NHA) assistant general manager, and National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Broadcast Services Division chief engineer Alvin Bernard Blanco as new NTC deputy commissioner.
PCO said other appointments made on May 17 were those of Aaron Kyle Pinzon, member, Sangguniang Panlalawigan of La Union province; Agnes De Leon, Director IV; Neila Aquino, Local Government Operations Officer VIII; Maria Maida Daniot, Local Government Operations Officer VIII, all under the Department of the Interior and Local Government; Cherry Mae Gonzales, Second Lieutenant (Reserve), Nurse Corps, Armed Forces of the Philippines; Marivel Sarabi, Captain (Reserve), Philippine Army; Antonino Cameja, and Lieutenant Commander (Reserve), Philippine Navy.
Others appointed were Aileen Ibay and Rufino Gerard Moreno III, both Director III, Presidential Communications Office; Cupido Gerry Asuncion, Ledwino Macariola, Glorioso Daniel Martinez, Eric Lenard Tabaldo, and Roque Versoza III, all Director II, Land Transportation Office (LTO); Manuel Baricaua, Antonio Bartolome, Manuel Betaizar, Eleanor Calderon, Gaudioso Geduspan II, Johan Macaumbos, Vincent Nonato, and Arthur Ranque, all Directors I, LTO.
The President also named former National Press Club president Paulino “Paul” Gutierrez as executive director of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFOMS).
Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Secretary Cheloy Garafil confirmed the appointment of Gutierrez, who will hold the rank of undersecretary. He will replace Joel Egco. His appointment paper was signed last May 19.
Gutierrez, who held different positions in the NPC such as president, director of the board, and secretary, had previously worked as a correspondent of the Daily Tribune and as a columnist and reporter of the Philippine Journalist Inc. which publishes People’s Journal and People’s Journal Tonight.
