SCIENCE Secretary Fortunato dela Peña yesterday said government hopes to see, by November, results of clinical trials using virgin coconut oil (VCO) on persons with mild or suspected infection of the coronavirus disease (COVOD-19).
Dela Peña said 47 of the 56 patients with mild or suspected COVID infections have completed the test. Analysis of results will take about a month, “so hopefully by the end October or early November,” there will be a conclusion, he also said.
He said 30 of the test subjects, from the Sta. Rosa Community Hospital in Laguna, have been sent home. He said conclusions are not yet made but there had been some improvement in the condition of the subjects.
