THE Metropolitan Manila Development Authority yesterday said the Department of Public Works and Highways has completed the asphalt overlay on several portions of Epifanio delos Santos Ave. on the second day of its “one-time, big time” repair works on the metropolis’ prime thoroughfare.
MMDA Chairperson Romando Artes said among the areas where the asphalt overlay has been completed are the area before the Guadalupe Bridge in Makati (whole length) and the area near the BBM headquarters near Octoboy at Edsa southbound.
Also completed were the overlay at the Corinthians (after AFP Camp Aguinaldo), before the MMDA office (Sunshine Media Marketing), Guadalupe MRT – Guadalupe Bridge and fronting Ricoa – Avida Towers on EDSA northbound.
Artes said the complete repair and rehabilitation of the dilapidated portions of EDSA will be completed by 5 a.m. on August 9.
Despite the completion of repair works in several areas, Artes reminded motorists and the public to expect heavy traffic on Edsa today, Monday.
Artes advised motorists to take alternate routes, including the Mabuhay Lanes, to avoid inconvenience while the repair works are ongoing.
