THE son of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla and three other individuals are set to run in the February 25, 2023 special elections that will be held to fill in the vacated House of Representatives seat for the 7th legislative district of Cavite.
In a statement, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced four individuals filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) from December 5 to 6 for the post, which was vacated after Remulla was appointed by President Marcos as secretary of the Department of Justice.
The candidates are Crispin Diego Diaz Remulla (National Unity Party), Jose Angelito Domingo Aguinaldo (Independent), Melencio Loyola De Sagun, Jr. (Independent), and Michael Angelo Bautista Santos (Independent).
The Comelec earlier said the special elections in Cavite will be cancelled if only one candidate will run for congressman of the 7th District of Cavite.
