THE PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group yesterday filed criminal complaints against the suspects in the abduction and slaying of the chief executive officer of a pharmaceutical company who went missing in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig last July.
Charged by the PNP-AKG before the Department of Justice for kidnapping for ransom, murder and arson were Carlo Cadampog, Ceasar Cadampog, John Benedict Dumalanta, Melvin Leonor Andes, Melchor Andes, Victor Ragodon Ferrer, Adrian Joseph Mendez alias AJ, Richmeld Ignilan alias Bay, and a certain Tomtom, all residents of Barangay 4, San Juan, Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
Also charged were David Gundran, a resident of Crestview Subdivision, Mayamot, Antipolo City, and one John Doe.
Relatives of Eduardo Tolosa, 50, reported last July 21 that he had been missing.
Investigation by the PNP-AKG showed that Tolosa left his home in Calumpang, Marikina on the morning of July 19 aboard a white Toyota Land Cruiser and proceeded to Tagaytay City, Cavite to meet with someone.
In the afternoon of the same day, he called Delia Taboniag, VP of Finance of Iraseth Pharma, Inc. instructing her to prepare cash amounting to $102,000, 2,800 euros, a Rolex watch, and another expensive watch. Tolosa told Taboniag to have it delivered by their company carrier at BGC.
At around 7:57 p.m. of the same day, the company carrier identified as Christopher Rancho delivered the items to Tolosa at the South of Marker Tower in BGC.
The PNP-AKG said that was the last time the CEO was last seen alive. The executive’s vehicle was later found burned in San Luis, Pampanga.
CCTV footage of C5 SLEX-Southbound showed that Tolosa’s vehicle was being driven by an unidentified male. Another CCTV footage at a gasoline station showed Tolosa and his male companion alighting and parking in front of a restaurant in the area and later left.
The PNP-AKG said the RFID booth at Better Living in Paranaque City also showed Tolosa’s vehicle passing several times, tailed by a Mitsubishi Mirage vehicle.
Police investigators later traced the ownership of the Mirage to Ceasar Cadampog.
Investigators got a break last August 8 when Dumalanta and Gundran surrendered and expressed their willingness to divulge information, their participation, and identify the other suspects involved in the abduction and killing of Tolosa.
Another suspect, Melchor Andes, also executed a statement surrounding the case and identified personalities involved, as well as their respective participation.
“Their respective sworn statements revealed the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping for ransom and killing of victim Eduardo Tolosa, the names of their cohorts, the mastermind, and the place where they dumped and burned the body,” the PNP-AKG said.
Last month, police discovered what they suspected to be the skeletal remains of the victim in Barangay San Juan, Sto. Tomas Batangas.
